Key losses: Fiona Landry, Taylor Melvin, Tatum Hunt, Madison Doucette.
Promising newcomers: Senior — Riley Walters (G); Junior — Sadie Goyette (F); Sophomores — Abigail Titus (D), Kaydence Jolin (G).
Season outlook: It’s a new era for the Blue Devils, who add players from Mt. Ararat and Morse players this season. Oak Hill joined the co-op last season. The Blue Devils will also have a new coaching staff after Scott Laberge stepped down. Goyette likes the core of this team, including 2024-25 points leader and Sun Journal All-Region Player of the Year Kylie Dulac. Avaya Desjardins and Sarah Mack will be key to the Blue Devils’ success on the blue line while Riley Walters is a veteran presence in goal coming over from Mt. Ararat.
EDWARD LITTLE/LEAVITT/MONMOUTH/OXFORD HILLS/POLAND RED HORNETS
Coach: Dana Berube (eighth year)
Region: North
Last year’s record: 7-12, reached regional quarterfinals.
Returning athletes: Seniors — Lucy Braby (F), Ella LaBelle (D); Juniors — Kaylee Hudson (F), Reagan Mulliner (F), Gabrielle Langelier (F), Avery Cologna (D); Sophomores — Reegan Saunders (F), Mary Braby (F).
Key losses: Izzy Jalbert, Kylee Spugnardi.
Promising newcomers: Senior — Abrianna White (G); Sophomore — Lauren Bolduc (F); Freshmen — Paige Fecteau (G), Leksi Langevin (F), Adalyn Martin (F), Adeline Langan (D), Fiona Connelly (D), Savannah Boulay (F), Phaedra DiBiase (D).
Season outlook: Berube is excited for the nine new players who have joined the program, including players from Monmouth Academy and Oxford Hills. While the Red Hornets will be young, Berube expects to see improvements throughout the season. The biggest strength this season will be on defense. Abrianna White has experience at the varsity level after being St. Dom’s goalie from 2021-2023, and Avery Cologna is an offensive-minded defender.
GREELY/GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER RANGERS
Coach: Meg Finlay (third year)
Region: South
Last year’s record: 1-17-1, reached regional quarterfinals.
Returning athletes: Seniors — Jane Flynn (F), Tacie Dougan (F), Zoe Trepaney (D); Sophomores — Teegan Schultz (F), Charley Louie (G).
Season outlook: Meg Finlay is continuing to build the program, which has only won four games in the past three seasons. She said the hard work the team has put in the past couple of seasons will lead to victories in 2024-25. The strength of the Rangers should be at the forward position.
ST. DOMINIC/LISBON SAINTS
Coach: Paul Gosselin (13th year)
Region: North
Last year’s record: 11-8, lost in regional quarterfinals.
Returning athletes: Seniors — Gabby Allen (F), Emily Andrews (D); Freshman — Alana Wheeler (G), Avianna D’Auteuil (D).
Key losses: Abby Titus, Aiva Dorman, Moira Craig, Aubrey Fortin, Georgina Davidson, Lauren Hanlon.
Promising newcomer: Molly Guay (F).
Season outlook: The Saints are another team that will be young this season, but Gabby Allen and Emily Andrews bring some veteran experience to the lineup. Coach Paul Gosselin expects the team to be quick this season. Alana Wheeler was solid in goal for the Saints as an eighth-grader a year ago.
WINSLOW/GARDINER/CONY/MESSALONSKEE/WATERVILLE/ERSKINE/LAWRENCE/MT. BLUE BLACK TIGERS
Coach: Bill Boardman (five years)
Region: North
Last year’s results: 10-10, reached regional semifinals.
Returning athletes: Seniors — Sophia Sullivan (F), Ellie Pooley (F), Kate Nichols (D); Juniors — Katie Berard (F), Molly Hambrick (F), Leah Michaud (D), Alexa Caccamo (D), Zoey Gilbert (G).
Key losses: Lily Berard, Evelyn Rousseau, Abby Allen
Promising newcomers: Sophomore — Abby Webb; Freshman — Josie Kelly (D).
Season outlook: The Black Tigers are poised for another solid year with an offense led by Katie Bedard (39 goals, 12 assists). Coach Bill Boardman said he hopes the team can generate more shots this season to set up more rebound attempts. Team defense and power plays will be another focus point for the co-op team.
