LEWISTON — Wise Women Speak, an event to shed light on our unsheltered community, will take place at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at The Center for Wisdom’s Women, Blake Street. This event is open to the public.
Marguerite Stapleton will moderate a conversation between Sonia Bermonty and Julia Kimball. Bermonty joins the event through Operation you Matter, an outreach group that supports local unsheltered people with basic needs such as clothing, food, and hygiene products. Kimball will speak about her experience as the homeless service coordinator for Androscoggin County and her passion to connect agencies that support unsheltered community members, according to a news release from Tricia Tomlinson with the center.
The evening will begin with light refreshments. Questions from the audience will follow the talk. Doors will be closed at 6 p.m.
This event will be held in the chapel space and can be entered by Walnut Street through the parking lot at St. Mary’s Nutritional Center. Parking is also available there during the event. Accessible entry is available on the Blake Street side.
