WEST PARIS — The First Universalist Church of West Paris, 208 Main St., has announced its December worship services and events.
Services take place at 9 a.m. Sundays with music performed by guitarist Davy Sturtevant; refreshments follow.
The Dec. 1 service, “Ripple Retreat Effect,” will feature guest speaker Jeffrey Holley, who operates Ripple Retreat, a non-alcohol turnkey event center, retreat center and recovery space.
The Dec. 8 service, “Belief,” will be led by the Rev. Scott Campbell.
The Dec. 15 service, “Children Shouldn’t be Victims” led by Bob Neal, will focus on the reality that children are among the first and worst victims of the violence in the world.
The Oxford Hills Ukulele Group will hold a Christmas sing-a-long at 2 p.m. Dec. 15. Admission is free; donations are welcome. Refreshments will follow.
A candlelight service led by Pastor Linda Couture will take place at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 22; there will be no morning service. There will be Christmas carols and a special treats. Attendees are asked to bring a donation of non-perishable foods that will be donated to the local food pantry.
Darrell Dyke will lead the Dec. 29 service, “New Ground for Ancient Dreams.”
