The “Music for Mavis” Cabin Fever Concert Sunday Series is scheduled from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Turner Public Library, 98 Mathew’s Way in Turner.
Musicians featured for this year’s concert series events are:
Jan. 28: Denny Breau (folk/blues/love songs);
Feb. 18: Stan Keech & Friends (bluegrass/folk);
March 18: Robbie Coffin, Maggie, Dave (rockin’ rock ‘n’ roll); and
April 15: Jim Galant and Billy Belskis (instrumentals/blues/celtic).
The series will be hosted by the “Music for Mavis” Committee and friends as a way to enjoy the winter together. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to bringing rural communities together to enjoy music and the arts.
Organizer Paula Anderson’s mother, Mavis Varney, was a sax player and a lover of music. It was her dream to have a gazebo music venue for her community to enjoy.
There is an elevator and facilities. There will be tea and coffee available. Those attending are invited to bring cookies. Anyone who would like to help set up or sweep and put away chairs will be welcome.
We will pass the hat at the event to help support the music. Suggested donation for the event is $10.
