Music! Comedy! Mystery! Fun! The Freeport Players present the all-new show WFCP’s Home Time Radio Hour XVIII beginning Friday, Dec. 6, at the Freeport Performing Arts Center in Freeport.
It’s the 18th year of a unique performance, where the “live studio audience” attends an old-time “radio” show set in the 1940s-1970s. Original sketches, from Joe Tanner, PI to The Throbbing Heart, to Dinner with the Draculas. Great songs of the era, including Love Me Tender, This Land is Your Land, and My Guy, and many more, with a live band onstage. Wacky products like Dr. Fizz Bromo Powders from Acme. And new hilarious Sound Effects folks! But it’s only on stage, and not really on the radio.
Directed by Alicia Belmore (sketches) and Alyssa Hawkins (music). Cast: Shirley Bernier, Catherine Carty-Wilbur, Phil Chin, Johanna DeGrandpre, Nancy Kenneally, Don Labbe, Nate Levesque, Robert Lewis, Judy Lloyd, Andy Mass, Gayle Nelson, Peter Nicoll, Kendall Penndorf, Joe Quinn, Roey Reinen, Betsy Roper, Dorothy Shull, Jackie Stowell, Marguerite Walker, David Wallace, Thom Watson. Band: Alyssa Hawkins, Parker Kenyon, Kent Nelson, Jarius Polley, Bill Cunningham.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 7; at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8.
Concessions will be sold at intermission.
Advance tickets are available online $20 for an adult, and $10 for a student 21 or under at fcponline.org. Prices at the door will $24 and $13. Freeport Performing Arts Center is located at 30 Holbrook St., Freeport. For more information, email info@fcponline.org.
