LEWISTON — The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Lewiston police arrested a local man Tuesday on drug trafficking charges, according to an MDEA statement.
Steven Braggs, 36, was arrested Tuesday during a probation compliance check when officers found 100 grams of cocaine in his possession.
Braggs was charged with aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs and taken to Androscoggin County Jail. He is being held on no bail due to a probation hold.
The probation compliance check stemmed from a September 2015 federal sentence in Massachusetts for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was on supervised release.
Following Braggs’ arrest at a Lewiston hotel, MDEA agents executed a search warrant at his residence at 114 Wellman St.
Agents discovered nearly two kilos of cocaine, trafficking materials and over $25,000 in suspected proceeds.
The street value of the cocaine is estimated at $100,000.
