LEWISTON — The Project Evolve, a local not-for-profit startup, hosted a food and coffee giveaway Nov. 16 at Kennedy Park. The event offered both nourishment and encouragement to homeless and transient populations in the community.
The menu included broccoli cheddar soup with crackers, grilled chicken, bread, fried potatoes with vegetables, and cupcakes for dessert. Hot coffee and Coke and Sprite were also served.
The event was organized by founders Isidora Manuel of Lewiston and Stephanie Nelon of Cumberland Center. The event included help from 20 volunteers from across Maine and the support of several members of the Lewiston community.
More than 30 unhoused individuals received a hot meal.
The Project Evolve is dedicated to fostering hope, dignity, and connection for those in need.
