Cheryl Ann Gray

LEWISTON – Cheryl Ann Gray passed unexpectedly, yet peacefully, in her sleep at her home on Nov. 24, 2024.

Cheryl was born in Lewiston, Oct. 11, 1950, to Horace and Bertha (Webster) Gray. She attended Auburn schools, graduating from Edward Little in 1969. Following high school, Cheryl proudly served in the U.S Army/National Guard as a Specialist 5th Class for nineteen years. She was stationed in various locations including New Jersey, California, North Carolina, Maine and Germany and took great pride in serving her country. After her service, she pursued many careers including cosmetology, building high end speaker equipment for Near (New England Audio Resources, Inc.), clerical work for Homeschool Associates and then Lewiston High School and for a season, she cleaned for LakeCity Exports. She enjoyed staying busy and had many hobbies including numerous crafts, cooking (especially making candied goods for the holidays) and gardening. Her family brought her the most happiness and she poured her time and energy into the people she loved. She was willing to bend over backwards to help those she cared about. Spending time with her longtime best friend, Holly Johnson was also a highlight of her life. Cheryl enjoyed adventures with her sisters, especially traveling to Damariscotta and Acadia, among other locations.

She is survived by her son Dan (Joy) Gray and her daughter Christa Gray. Her grandchildren became her world and on any given day you could find her with at least one grandchild by her side, Timothy (Harmony) Boswell, Mykael Magee, Stephen (Maddy) Gray, Dakota Lee Voisine, Xazavior Gray, Azalea Gray, and Eithian Powell. Her great-grandchildren gave her additional smiles in recent years, Jason William Boswell, Sterling Magee who lived locally so she had very special memories with him and Eli Gray. She is also survived by siblings, Thressa Wengland, Larry (Ann) Gray, and Darleen (stepson TJ Harmon). Cheryl is predeceased by her parents and sister Barbara Gray.
