NORWAY — Myles Felch and his son Niall Taylor stand beside a glass case display containing sixteen tourmaline pieces and information from the Maine Mineral and Gem Museum in Bethel. Myles is the Curator and Staff Geologist at the museum.

This display of gemstones in various shapes and colors will be on display through December 2024. Anyone with a valid Norway Memorial Library card may request a pass to the Maine Mineral and Gem Museum at the library information desk.

Maine Mineral and Gem Museum Education Outreach Coordinator, Deborah Johnson will present a series of children’s programs on second Wednesdays 3:30-4:30 p.m. November-April. Six programs featuring monthly themes will allow children to enjoy fun science books and STE(A)M activities and be a geologist who investigates rocks.
