Caroline Judy (Gagnon) Myers Ball Thermaenius

NORWAY – Following a brief illness, Caroline passed away on December 5, 2024, at the age of 90.

Caroline Gagnon was born in Huntington, N.Y. on Jan. 20, 1934, to Albert and Esther Gagnon. After graduating from secretarial school, she took a job as a model in New York City. Caroline was crowned the 1953 Miss Long Island beauty pageant winner. She recounted with humor the story of having to introduce Guy Lombardo and His Royal Canadians at the pageant, introducing them as, “Guy Lombardo and his band”.

That same year, Caroline married her first husband, Richard Myers. They had four children. In early 1971 she moved to Maine and married Paul Ball. Together they enjoyed living on a farm with their blended family.

In 1982, Caroline married her third husband, Lars Thermaenius. The couple enjoyed extensive travel including two trips to Africa. They had many friends who they enjoyed spending time with. Caroline enjoyed photography, tennis, travel, and dogsled racing and was a classical pianist.

Caroline is survived by her four children, Rick Myers and his wife Ellen of Tennessee, Claudia Myers Whitford and her husband Ted of Virginia, Kyle Myers Phillips and her husband Michael of Maine and Craig Myers and his wife Susie of California; as well as 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Bentley.
