I want to thank Sun Journal reporter Frida Zeinali for her very informative article, “Reaching a breaking point” (Nov. 24). The behavior described in this article has existed in Lewiston schools for the past 30 years.
It’s time for Lewiston state legislators to step up to the plate. School teachers, administrators and staff cannot continue to worry about their physical and financial safety. Students cannot continue to worry about their safety — before, during and after school.
For too long Lewiston legislators have stood silently by, watching the progressive and the woke crowd dictate failing policies. These policies fail to provide the students with a needed education and continue to drain the scant funds of an already strained Lewiston population.
The school system has been ignored for years. It needs an overhaul. This will subject Lewiston legislators with heavy criticism from the left.
The question is, will Lewiston legislators ignore the naysayers, or will we have high school students working at fast food establishments unable to make change for a dollar?
