DEAR SUN SPOTS: The SHAREcenter is moving to a new location at the Market Place Mall on upper Main Street in Lewiston and needs volunteer support from the community.
We also intend to remain open at our current location at 1830 Lisbon St. in Lewiston as much as possible so there is no interruption in accessing materials for our members.
We will be packing, moving, setting up, and organizing and stocking materials over the course of the next several weeks and will need a big team of volunteers to accomplish this move. Dates will be announced. Please contact the SHAREcenter board chair, Jonathan Carsley, at jcarsely@sharecenterme.org, if you are available to assist with this big job. Many hands make for lighter work and our community and our members have always been there to support us when we need assistance.
ANSWER: This does sound like a gigantic task but I know all the wonderful folks who keep the SHAREcenter alive and well are up for it especially if they have the kind assistance of some willing, energetic volunteers.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Is Paul’s Shoe Repair still in business? I need to have soles replaced on my favorite boots and have the buckle on one of my old Birkenstocks replaced. — Anna, no town
ANSWER: Yes, Paul’s Shoe Repair at 350 Lisbon St. in Lisbon (514-6800) is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. I believe Paul is the only shoe repair place in the area.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Did the ladies looking for the butter pats (Dec. 11 Sun Spots) try BJ’s or Sam’s Club? Just a thought. — No name, no town
ANSWER: I researched those two stores and didn’t come up with anything, and most restaurant supply resources sell by the case, which would be so much more butter than the ladies need for their luncheons. They would need freezer space to store it. I’m hoping one of the clever Sun Spots readers will come up with an idea or even offer a local place where the butter pats can be purchased, or even donated as needed.
