Ashlyn Holbrook, Leavitt senior: Holbrook qualified for the 50 freestyle at last season’s Class A state meet. At the first meet this season, she placed fifth in the 50 freestyle.
Chase Leonardo, Leavitt senior: Leonardo won the 200 individual medley and placed second in the 100 breaststroke at the Class A championships. The 2023-24 Sun Journal Boys’ Swimmer of the Year also lowered his team record in the 100 breaststroke at the state meet, set a 200 IM record at the KVAC championships and was part of setting a school record in the 200 freestyle relay.
Emma Frumiento, Hebron senior: The defending Class A champion in the 50 freestyle is expected to again contend for the state title. The 2023-24 Sun Journal Girls’ Swimmer of the Year also plans to swim in the 100 freestyle or the 100 butterfly and earn a top-10 placing at states.
Gabby Roy, Lewiston junior: Roy, the Class A 100 butterfly state champion as a freshman in 2023, placed fourth in the 50 freestyle and second in the 50 butterfly at last season’s state meet.
Jack Martel, Edward Little junior: Martel is expected to swim state qualifying times in every individual event and is capable of placing in the top five or 10. Last season, he finished 12th in the 100 free at the Class A state meet, 25th in the 100 back and 20th in the 200 free.
Klara Cloutier, Lewiston junior: Cloutier qualified for last year’s Class A state meet in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke and placed 28th in the 500 free.
Matthew Dupee, Oak Hill freshman: The first swimmer to represent Oak Hill has already qualified for states in the 50 freestyle with a 26.77-second time at the season-opening meet.
Matthew Tabet, Leavitt junior: At last year’s Class A state meet, Tabet came in 18th in the 100 butterfly and 20th in 100 back. He is expected to qualify for multiple individual events and should place well in the 100 butterfly and 200 IM.
