FARMINGTON — Monday, Dec. 16, members of the Franklin County Children’s Task Force [FCCTF], Franklin County Commission, and Farmington Rotary Club came together to give and accept collected donations of children’s pajamas and funds for the 23rd annual Dan and Janet Warner Pajama Drive.

FCCTF accepted a $1,000 donation from the Farmington Rotary Club as well as donated Pajamas from Franklin County Commission. Social Services Director Rileigh Blanchet said that they will spend the money on even more pajamas for a total of over 400 pairs.

Members of the Farmington Rotary Club will wrap some of the pajamas and get them out to families for Christmas. Blanchet said that pajamas for ages 12 months and under will be distributed during the annual Community Baby Shower event next year, and the rest will be sent to Maine Families, 21st Century Kids of Franklin After School Program, and some will be saved for next year’s Operation Santa program. The remainder of last year’s donations went out to families for this year’s Operation Santa.

The University of Maine at Farmington, The Mercantile, Otis Elevator, and Jack’s Trading Post were also contributors to this project by donation or by having a collection bin at their business.

The pajama drive was named after Dan and Janet Warner who were very active members in creating the pajama drive. The drive is also dedicated to Janet Warner in memoriam of her passing one year ago.
