· Fat Bike Loppet and Festival – Jan. 26, 2025
The Rangeley Lakes Trail Center will host the 8th annual Fat Bike Loppet and Festival, this event attracts bikers from near and far. The course takes advantage of the beautiful and varied terrain at the Tral Center, and the stadium provides an excellent viewing experience for friends, family, and supporters to see the start and finish of this exciting race!
· Snodeo – Jan. 30 – Feb. 1
This three-day event is a classic in Rangeley. This year’s festival will include a chili & chowder cook-off, a live auction, snowmobile parade down Main Street, fireworks, and more!
February
· Pond Hockey Festival – Feb. 7 – 9, 2025
Rangeley takes its pond hockey seriously and is home to the annual Pond Hockey Festival. This lively event draws hockey enthusiasts from all around, adding to the excitement of skating on Haley Pond. Come out and watch the teams compete on the ice.
· The Gambler Uphill Challenge – Feb. 9, 2025
The Gambler Uphill Challenge is a fundraising competition that benefits the Ski Patrol at Saddleback. Grab your skis, skins, or snowshoes and head to the slopes to support the crew that has our back all season long!
· Winterpaloozah – Feb. 17, 2025
Enjoy a day on the ice and in the snow on Haley Pond and in the Town Park. This festival features kids’ cardboard sled racing, free skating, and curling at Haley Pond. There will be Dog
Keg Pull Races, Buoy Ball, and Firewood Toss at the Town Park. Take a Horse and Carriage Ride through the quaint downtown while enjoying a cup of hot chocolate.
· Saddleback’s February Festival – Feb 21 -23, 3025
Come one, come all – February Festival is an all-ages, family-friendly event complete with music, torchlight parade, fireworks and new this year – Gee Whiz Grom Slopestyle Open.
March
· Rangeley XC Loppet – March 1 – 2, 2025
The 29th annual legendary Rangeley Lakes Loppet will be held Saturday and Sunday, March 2-3, 2025. Saturday, the 50k Freestyle tees off at 9:45 AM and Sunday hosts the 25k Freestyle, 25k Classic, 10K Classic and 10K and 25k Touring. Two refreshment stations along the course offer cookies, water, and Hammer Heed® to help you along the way. Both days feature our famous apres-ski feed, free of charge for all participants! Bring the family for a weekend of winter fun!
· Marty’s Moose Dash – March 9, 2025
The Rangeley Lakes Trail Center will host the 9th annual Moose Dash Snowshoe Race. This Event features a Kids Fun Run 1K and a 5K Race with multiple categories. Prizes include local maple syrup. Mark your calendar now for this fun-filled family event!
· Back to the Banks Banked Slalom – March 15, 2025
Feel the rhythm, feel the ride, give it up, it’s slalom time! Saddleback’s premier snowboarding and snow skating competition is back on Saturday, March 15, 2024. This event is open to all ages. Prizes for the top three riders in each age group!
· Annual Cardboard Box Derby – March 30, 2025
Racers get ready! The annual cardboard box race is a beloved Saddleback tradition. Teams rally to build the best on-theme, snow-sliding vessel – made entirely out of cardboard and elbow grease. This event is free to participate but racers will need to register and sign a waiver. Race “vehicles” must only be made from duct tape, cardboard, paint, and decorations. Prizes for the most creative on-theme box.
