BETHEL — Fisher Tewksbury’s dominant scoring and rebounding performance led Valley to a 57-43 win over Telstar in a showdown of unbeaten Class D South boys basketball teams on Friday
Tewksbury scored 20 points and pulled down 19 rebounds for the defending D South champion Cavaliers (4-0). He also had five steals. Harry Louis added 17 points, and Hunter Mills contributed 10 points and seven rebounds.
The Rebels (4-1) trailed 12-5 after one quarter but got within a point, 26-25, at halftime. However, the Cavaliers added 10 points to their lead with a 17-7 third period.
Reiley Hedden sank five 3-pointers to score team-high 15 points for Telstar. Connor Deprey finished with 11 points and Brody Morgan scored eight.
CARRABEC 56, RANGELEY 16: Michael Steuber scored 13 points as the Cobras won in North Anson.
Logan Caldwell and Seth Price added eight points apiece for Carrabec (4-1).
Sam Morrill led the Lakers (1-4) with seven points.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
VALLEY 78, TELSTAR 15: Bri Mills scored 16 points and added 10 rebounds as the Cavaliers won in Bethel.
Rylee Clark contributed 12 points for Valley (4-0), while Myranda Bean and Madeline Hill each scored 11 points.
Taejyah Lego led the Rebels (1-4) with seven points.
