SOUTH PARIS — The Oxford County Soil & Water Conservation District and Natural Resources Conservation Service are set to hold a public meeting of the Oxford County USDA Local Working Group from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Oxford County Office, 9 Olson Road.
The group will provide recommendations for the 2026 Environmental Quality Incentives Program to its local USDA-NRCS. The meeting aims to help identify local natural resource priorities and define criteria for funding conservation activities.
Topics of discussion will include agricultural waste, forestry, pastureland, cropland, high tunnels and wildlife, in addition to other issues and areas of concern. Participants will provide feedback and have the opportunity to learn about other programs and incentives available to them.
