BETHEL — On Thursday, December 12, the Telstar Middle School Girls’ varsity basketball team lost to a very tough Spruce Mountain squad, 43 to 17. Brooklyn Deprey led the Rebels with 6 points, followed by Ayva Jeselskis and Lucy DeCato, with three each. Hanna Kerns and Jozzy Robinson had a basket each and Elsa Parker added a foul shot.
On Friday, December 13, the Telstar Middle School Girls’ varsity basketball team traveled to Dirigo on Friday afternoon. The game was tied at halftime, but the Rebels only scored one basket in the third quarter, with Dirigo scoring 14 to open up a 12-point lead and cruising to a 45 to 29 victory. The Rebels were led by Brooklyn Deprey and Hanna Kerns with eight points apiece. Ayva Jeselskis had five points and Sydney Van Buren; Hope Heath; Elsa Parker and Meridith LaPointe each added a basket.
On Monday, December 16, the Telstar Middle School Girls’ varsity basketball team played Dirigo Middle School for the second time in four days. The Rebels played much better on their home court, but still came up four points short, losing to the Cougars, 37-33. Ayva Jeselskis led the Rebels with 17 points, going 3 for 4 from the foul line. Brooklyn Deprey, Maci Kerns, and Hanna Kerns had four points apiece with Sydney Van Buren adding a basket and Addy Mosher and Elsa Parker adding a foul shot.
