It seems really obvious that our “fearless leader,” President-elect Donald Trump, thinks lowering people’s grocery bills is no priority. Revenge and chaos are his strongest motivations — that, or whatever his pal Elon Musk thinks is best.

I hope Vladimir Putin and Kim Jung Un aren’t jealous.

There’s only so much of Don to go around, so many billionaires to make happy. He does try, though. On Dec. 15’s Meet the Press, Gary Cohn — who worked in the first Trump administration — said the economy is in good shape, but you won’t hear that from Trump. Truth is his personal enemy within.

His moves to end nearly any bipartisan deal shows clearly his lack of empathy for middle class folks, now that the election is over. I don’t want what’s coming, which is almost certainly, as Musk said, going to be painful for a while — not for him, though.

All the happiness for Trump’s victory won’t last as long as the painful repercussions. Not just for Democrats, but for almost anyone who isn’t rich.

Anything built on lies is bound to fail, so people should brace themselves for the outcome. Truth is often Trump’s fiction. John McCain’s opinion of Trump was spot on.

Also, in response to letter writer Mark Wood’s complaint about Dave Granlund’s cartoon (Trump on the cover of Time magazine) — if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it isn’t a bald eagle.
