University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H Virtual Learning is set to kick off 2025 with two opportunities in January, a series on climate civic action and a series introducing farm care and basic animal science.
This program leads virtual learning opportunities for youths on a variety of topics throughout the year. The Zoom sessions feature learning activities for youth located anywhere in the state.
Farm Animal Care FUNdamentals will be held from 4-5:15 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 22, 29 and Feb. 5. Participants ages 9-18 will learn the basics of farm animal care, exploring basic animal husbandry, care and nutrition. The registration deadline is Tuesday, Jan. 7.
Climate Civic Action club will take place from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 27, Feb. 3 and 10. Participants ages 12-18 will learn about climate change from global and local perspectives and explore opportunities for individual action to make a difference. The registration deadline is Monday, Jan. 13.
Participation is free, although donations are accepted.
