What a wonderful surprise in Dec. 27’s Sun Journal (“Muhammad Ali statue under construction in Lewiston“).
Developer Tom Platz and his friends have commissioned Zenos Frudakis, one of the world’s foremost sculpture artists, to create a bronze statue of Muhammad Ali’s great triumph over Sonny Liston in Lewiston in 1965. It will be based on one of the most iconic photos in sports history.
I would encourage folks to Google the artist and browse his work. I don’t believe they could have selected a more appropriate artist to create a testament to this great event.
