LEWISTON — cPort Credit Union held a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday for its first branch in Lewiston.
cPort was founded in 1931 as the Federal Employees Credit Union of Maine in Augusta and is believed to be the oldest credit union in the state. It has branches five branches in Portland, Scarborough and Augusta.
The credit union purchased the property at 321 Main St. earlier this year with original plans to open by the summer of 2025. That has now been pushed back.
