Our two primary political parties are both responsible for the decades-long crisis on the southern border, as well as the ridiculous national debt. It’s nice that President-elect Donald Trump wants to tackle both problems.
To deal with our debt and spending issues, Trump’s primary handler, Elon Musk, will be part of a team to study government spending and recommend changes. I’m anxious to see if he suggests any cuts to the space program and the Space Force. Much of the money going into the space program goes to his company.
Why the Space Force was ever created by Flash Trump seems a mystery. He doesn’t want to patrol and police across the pond but will patrol and police the universe.
I recall watching the first satellite pass overhead on its first night. It was Sputnik 1, launched by the Soviet Union. Ever since then the U.S. has thrown insane amounts of money into space for bragging rights against the Soviets, and now China. I’ve seen no benefit to this madness that justifies spending hundreds of billions of dollars.
If the space nonsense doesn’t go on the chopping block, I think we can say that we’ve been had by Trump and friends looking to make changes to fit their agendas, not to straighten out our finances.
