LEWISTON — Courtney Lachance’s third-period goal broke a tie and lifted Lewiston/Oak Hill/Mt. Ararat/Morse to a 4-3 girls hockey win over Greely/Gray-New Gloucester at The Colisee on Wednesday.
Lachance scored the game winner with 4:27 left in the game. Crew Langley and Avaya Desjardins each had a goal and an assist and Alexa Castonguay also scored once for the Blue Devils (6-5). Emma Berube had two assists.
Zoe Trepaney recorded a hat trick for the Rangers (0-12), with all three goals set up by Jane Flynn. Kaia Perkins and Eve Hein each had one assist.
Lewiston goalie Riley Walters made 17 saves, while Greely’s Charley Louie stopped 22 shots.
BOYS BASKETBALL
DIRIGO 58, BOOTHBAY 49: Nathaniel Wainwright scored the 1,000th point of his career during the fourth quarter and finished with a game-high 30 points in the Cougars’ win over the Seahawks in Boothbay.
Owen Smith added 11 points and Ryan Wing had nine for Dirigo (5-5).
Tyson French led Boothbay (2-7) with 16 points.
MADISON 38, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 23: The Bulldogs (5-4) held the Falcons (2-7) to nine second-half points and earned a Class C South victory in Madison.
Mountain Valley led 14-12 at halftime, then was limited to one point in the third quarter and eight in the fourth, while Madison put up 11 points in the third and 15 in the fourth.
Jacob Linkletter led the Bulldogs with 13 points, while Brayden Furbush contributed nine points and eight rebounds.
Cash Provencher was Mountain Valley’s top scorer with seven points.
RICHMOND 46, TELSTAR 40: The Bobcats (5-2) bounced back from a rough third quarter to beat the Rebels (6-3) in Richmond.
Richmond was outscored 12-4 in the third and trailed 32-25 entering the fourth, but they won the final period 21-8.
David Edwards (15 points) and Zander Steele (11) both scored in double figures for the Bobcats. Connor Deprey led Telstar with 11 points, while Jonathan Marshall had eight.
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 90, OAK HILL 61: Cai Dougher led the way as the Phoenix (9-1) won a high-scoring game over the Raiders (2-8) in Wales.
Dougher finished with 32 points, including four 3-pointers and 4-of-7 shooting from the free-throw line. Jace Bessey hit five 3s and added 26 points, and Austin Armandi and Levi Richards each scored eight for Spruce Mountain.
Braden Dubuc made five 3s and scored 24 points for Oak Hill, while Eli Desmond had 14 points.
