AUBURN – Mariette H. Mercier, 93, of Auburn, passed away on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025.
She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 17, 1931, a daughter of Albert and Marie Moreau. Mariette attended local schools and was a graduate of Lewiston High School. She married Alfred Mercier and she worked jobs in Lewiston as well as owning a ceramic shop in Sabattus. She lived in Sabattus for over 40 years where she enjoyed ceramics, knitting and spending time with her family.
Mariette is survived by her two daughters Joanne Mercier of Auburn, Joline Stevens and her husband James of Jackman, a daughter-in-law, Yvette Mercier of Lewiston; her sister, Venise Goyette. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Alfred who died in 2005; also her son, Richard, who died in 2021; and her sisters Rita Timberlake, Madeline Landry, Jackie Lamontagne.
A period of visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday Jan. 13 at the Fortin and Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, where a Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
