As I’ve stated before in this forum, I’ve never believed President Donald Trump is a true Christian. But if he were, I should think his hardest cross to bear would be knowing there’s no possibility of ever being adopted as the fourth person of the Godhead.
But at least the man enjoys the delusional belief that he’s “the greatest president in history.” He possesses comprehensive knowledge of America’s presidents, does he? Really? I’d love to ask him just one significant thing he knows about, say, Presidents Zachary Taylor or Millard Fillmore.
Here’s what he thinks he knows about Andrew Jackson — a huge fan of the infamously polarizing president one would expect him to be knowledgeable about, especially since his portrait once again hangs in the Oval Office:
According to Trump, Jackson was “really angry” about the Civil War, protesting — from his grave, apparently, since he died in 1845, 16 years before it began — that “there’s no reason for this.”
Consonant with his belief in his presidential superiority is his dream of having his face added to the immortals of Mount Rushmore, as he once told his acolyte Kristi Noem, governor of South Dakota and his Homeland Security pick. She thought he was joking; he assured her he wasn’t.
No doubt, he’d ensure his image was placed center-top with his name in lights.
But why rein in the grandiosity? How about ginormous, North Korean-style bronzes of himself dominating our major cities?
Wait for it.
