Everyone asks himself how the German people could have let themselves get into the trouble they got into leading up to World War II.
The answer is complicated, but it happened quickly, in just a few months. The same thing is happening to the populace of this country now.
We are in the midst of a takeover of the U.S. government by President Trump and his appointees, especially Elon Musk. The public is reacting to this cataclysm, but slowly. Most distressing is the anemic reaction to the takeover by the media and Congress, apparently due to the facts that nearly half the nation gets its news from Republican-oriented media (Fox TV and affiliates), and the other half is afraid to speak up.
We should all be concerned. Our government is rapidly losing the checks and balances that made it extraordinary 250 years ago. We are now going down the same path that Germany followed in the 1930s.
C’mon, America. We need to make our voices heard.
