Dahlia
Dahlia is a 3-year-old shepherd terrier mix, weighing around 60 lbs. She was unfortunately surrendered back to us, due to changes in her home that she did not adjust well to. Dahlia was nervous coming back to a shelter, but we tried our best to make her feel at home. She is house-trained and has shown us that she walks well on leash, and is a very gentle treat-taker.
Dahlia has been selective around other dogs here at the shelter but her former owners tell us that she used to go to a doggy daycare and enjoyed the company of other dogs. A shelter setting can be a high-stress environment for most dogs, so it’s not unusual for most of them to be selective, so she does have the potential to go to a home with other dogs.
Dahlia did well when being cat tested. Dahlia cannot go to a home with young children but older children (12+) would be fine. Dahlia has not been destructive with toys or bedding here at the shelter. She loves snuggling in her blankets and playing with her toys. Dahlia is an active dog who loves to run and play but also settles very well in her kennel. She would make a wonderful companion.
