BETHEL — Bethel Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bobbi Vandenbulcke said Bethel HarvestFest on Saturday, Sep. 20, will expand to include a Brew Fest, art show, crafters, Corn Hole Tournament, pie contest, and scavenger hunt. The events, with the exception of corn hole, will be held at Valentine Farm.

The corn hole tournament will be the only event that will be on the Bethel Common. It will take place sometime in the afternoon of Sep. 20.

Valentine Farm will have its trails and garden open and there will be music. She hopes to attract Maine brewers to the Brew Fest part of the event, which will be cordoned off and have a separate charge.

The Scavenger Hunt which may end up with a different name will be held in Bethel Village. Vandenbulcke said an, as yet undisclosed object, will be hidden in several stores on Main Street. Participants will get their card punched when they find the objects.

Besides town officials, Vandenbulcke is working with Barbara Murphy at Mahoosuc Land Trust/Valentine Farm.

They will likely have a shuttle service that carts people from nearby parking lots to Valentine.

“This is very exciting. We’re really trying to grow this annual event.  Bethel Common was just too small to do all the things we wanted to do, ” said Vandenbulcke, “I think this is going to be something that grows into something really wonderful.”
