DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m a volunteer with Rebuilding Together Lewiston/Auburn and I’m asking that readers help us with finding homes to renovate this year. The nonprofit organization is supported entirely by contributions of time, labor, material and money. We are dedicated to repairing the homes of those who, due to financial hardship, age, and/or disability, cannot do the work themselves. Skilled and unskilled volunteers alongside able-bodied members of the recipient’s family and friends complete the repairs at no cost to the homeowner.

The work is done on one weekend per year. This year, Rebuilding Day is May 10. We will be accepting house applications until March 31. Applications can be found on our website at: www.rebuildingtogetherla.org. You can also contact us at [email protected] and request one to be sent via mail.

Skilled and unskilled volunteers are also needed. If you would like to volunteer, please contact us at the email address above, or call 333-7449. — Shanna, Lewiston

ANSWER: Whether you need repairs to your home or want to volunteer, please sign up as soon as possible so the organizers can plan and move forward.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I read your column every day and hope you can help us get the word out for our upcoming celebration.

Please save the date for the Lisbon High School Class of 1965’s 60-year reunion. The event will be held at the Lisbon Left Hand Club on Old County Road on Saturday, July 26. A social hour will begin at 1 p.m. with a meal to follow. We’ll send out more information in the near future. — No name, no town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Months ago, there  were  wonderful  programs on RFD Channel #297. Some programs have disappeared, but now some are back.

Connie Smith, Perley Curtis, Millionaire Quartet, and others are still missing and I’m waiting for them to return. — No name, no town

ANSWER: Rural Free Delivery Television does change its programming from time to time. Could any RFD viewers in Sun Spots Land shed any light on this subject?

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I like watching NEWS 8 every day at 4 p.m. There is a one-minute commercial with a woman who sings the song about all our Maine counties from Androscoggin to York. What a nice commercial! There is also a man who plays acoustic guitar with her. Can you tell me who these two people are? — No name, no town

ANSWER: I believe you’re talking about Julie Gagnon and Nate Haven. They do a wonderful job with that song!
