Wyatte Thompson, and his dog, Chevy, climb some of the same towering West Bethel snow hills his grandfather and great aunts climbed as children. Submitted
BETHEL — Angie Lovejoy wrote us, “In follow-up to your high winds and Flat Road snow article…I thought I’d share the other side of the coin….my son, Wyatte Thompson, and his dog, Chevy, climbing the ginormous mountain of snow left behind by the cleanup of the drifting snow on the Flat Road.
“I always joke that we live ‘on the other side of Antarctica’ (we live just after the fields and the church) where a lot of the snow from the fields accumulates during winter wind storms. This pile of snow is just down the road from us – across from the old farmhouse my grandparents owned for 60 years.
“My dad and aunts used to slide off the roof of that old house in the winter when the drifting was real bad. So thankful for today’s modern equipment – and super thankful for the Bethel Road Crew that keeps that section of road passable in the winter!”
