CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The High Peaks Alliance hosted a triumphant “Après with the High Peaks Alliance” gathering at Sugarloaf Mountain Resort this past Saturday, drawing over 90 attendees passionate about conservation and recreational access in Maine’s High Peaks region.

The event, held at the Bill & Joan Alfond Competition Center, provided a platform for community members to connect with the organization while learning about ongoing conservation efforts. Attendees received information about local trail systems, with hundreds of trail maps and brochures distributed throughout the evening.

“We’re thrilled with the turnout and the enthusiasm shown by both longtime supporters and new faces,” said Amanda Laliberte, director of engagement for the Alliance. “These connections are vital to our mission of conserving access for recreation in the High Peaks region.”

The event was made possible through the support of Linwood Doble Custom Home Builders, who sponsored the gathering, and the Sugarloaf Ski Club for providing the venue. Special recognition goes to Kate Punderson for her expertise in organizing the successful evening.

The Alliance will continue its community outreach and welcomes ongoing support through volunteering, monthly donations, and participation in future events. Monthly contributions directly support trail maintenance efforts while providing employment opportunities for local youth.
