I am writing as a constituent of Rep. Laurel Libby, one who does not support her actions or views.
It may have been legal for her to post a student’s picture on her social media, but I do not think it was ethical or kind. I find it sad that the student’s family has to endure insensitive criticism. Maybe this student did well because she trained under a talented coach and spent hours working hard and practicing. She is not a male on a female team. She is a transgender female, working hard to be part of a team, and deserves more respect.
With more knowledge and compassion, we can all be kinder.
