AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library is set to present a performance exploring the history of American popular music at 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 24, at the 49 Spring St. library.
“A Journey Through the Roots of American Popular Music” is a program of songs and stories about the origins of the blues, rock and country music presented by singer/songwriter Jon Waterman. Waterman is joined by Li Waterman on bass.
The program, which also features an accompanying slideshow, explores some of the characters and events that are part of the history and the role of music in people’s lives, according to a news release from Izzy Ruta, adult services manager at the library.
This program, paid for by proceeds from the Lisa Giguere and Ralph Tuttle Endowment Fund, will take place in the Androscoggin Community Room. Registration is not required. All are welcome.
