DIXFIELD — Police are investigating a large-scale illegal cannabis grow operation discovered Saturday in a home on Porter Road, according to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.

A search warrant was issued after law enforcement received a tip about the illegal operation, Chief Deputy James Urquhart said in a news release.
The Sheriff’s Office, along with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, executed the search warrant and discovered over 23 pounds of processed marijuana and 1,647 marijuana plants, Urquhart said.
No one was at the home during the search. Records indicate the property is owned by a 38-year-old woman from Boston.
The investigation is ongoing, Urquhart said.
Porter Road is off Main Street, which is also Route 17 and U.S. Route 2.
