BETHEL — An investigation by the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office into a shoplifting complaint at a local retail store led to the arrest of four people on charges that included theft and drug trafficking.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for a residence on High Street after their investigation identified several suspects and the location of the stolen merchandise. Officials executed the search warrant at 10 p.m. Monday.

According to Maj. Dana Thompson of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, those arrested were:

• Scott L. Coffin, 55, of Woodstock, charged with unlawful furnishing schedule Z drugs. He booked into the Oxford County Jail in Paris.

• Jacquelyn L. Dunn, 36, of Bethel, charged with theft and violation of conditions of release. She was booked into the Oxford County Jail.

• Michael D. Greene, 25, of Bethel, charged with felony theft, refusing to submit to arrest and/or detention and violation of conditions of release. He booked at the Oxford County Jail.

• A 17-year-old male from Taunton, Massachusetts, was charged with unlawful trafficking schedule W drugs and unlawful possession of schedule Z drugs. He was transported to the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.

Deputies seized 61.21 grams of cocaine and $875 cash along with other evidence of drug trafficking activity. They also recovered stolen merchandise.

The investigation is ongoing and other arrests are expected, Thompson said.
