I played sports up until high school level. What a joy it was to participate. Winning is the ultimate goal we strive for. I had four brothers and played sports with boys all along. It only made the competition better and more fun.

Sports are not always about winning. It is how we play that counts. Isn’t that what life is — a challenge, building character and tolerance? Discrimination is very wrong. It ostracizes and defames a person. Isn’t that what we’re doing by excluding trans athletes? What are we afraid of, getting beat? Losing? How shallow.

Athletes are athletes. Play on! Let her play! It’s how we play the game, after all, not the outcome. Discrimination is wrong.
