RANGELEY — Brook Laliberte of Rangeley, a senior at Rangeley Lakes Regional School has been selected to receive the 2025 Principal’s Award, Principal Georgia Campbell announced Wednesday, March 19. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

When asked about Brooke, these are some of the things her teachers had to say. “Whether advocating on the student council or being captain of the soccer team, Brooke has demonstrated Laker Pride in her 4 years of high school. You can count on Brooke to engage her peers in the classroom, playing field, or community. Brooke is often the first to step up and offer help.” “Brooke is a student who has an incredible amount of intrinsic motivation, academic commitment, and attention to every detail with an unparalleled work ethic. It is involuntary that when her peers (and educators) look for guidance or to step up and lead, we turn to Brooke.”

Brooke and other award winners and their principals will attend an Honors Luncheon at Jeff’s Catering on Saturday, April 5, at 12:30 p.m.

The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of ten $1,000 scholarships in the names of former Maine principals and MPA Executive Directors: Horace O. McGowan, Richard W. Tyler, and Richard A. Durost.

The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
