OXFORD — The Oxford Hills Christian Academy’s theatre troupe, Merely Players, will perform Agatha Christie’s “The Murder of Roger Ackroyd”.

When wealthy English socialite Roger Ackroyd is found stabbed to death, it’s obviously murder. What’s less obvious is “whodunnit”. There are many suspects, and plenty of motives. Everyone in the house-from servants, to niece, sister-in-law, or stepson, everyone has something to hide. Luckily, famous Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot, has recently retired to the neighborhood and is soon on the case.
He is accompanied by his neighbor, his new “Watson”, the local Dr. Sheppard, and Poirot will not quit until he has learned “whodunnit” and why. Merely Players is under the leadership of Michelle Sawtelle, who has been directing theatre at OHCA for 19 years.
Hercule Poirot is played by sophomore Samuel Gelinas, with classmate Melbourn MacMahon as his sidekick, Dr. Sheppard. sophomore Skylar Callina plays Sheppard’s busybody sister, Caroline, and senior Andrew Clark plays the bumbling inspector Raglan. The rest of the cast include: Mackenzie Wheeler, senior; Hannah Reynolds, senior; Dillon Shultz, sophomore; Timothy Reynolds, sophomore; Brennan Licata, sophomore; Katherine Reynolds, freshman; Lucas Clark, 8th grade; and alumni Natalie Brown and Jeremy Gonzalez.
Showtimes are Friday, May 16 @ 6pm, Saturday, May 17 @ 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm at Hosanna Church (109 Schoolhouse Rd, Oxford). Tickets are sold at the door: $5| Students, $10| Adults. Concessions will be sold at intermission.
