Solange “Sally” Dumont

LEWISTON – Solange “Sally” Dumont, 92, of Lewiston, passed away on Sept. 29, 2025, with her daughter and family at her side.

Formerly of Sabattus, Sally was born in Portneuf, Quebec on July 19, 1933.

Sally was in boarding school with her sister in Quebec with Grey Nuns until 1949. She moved to Wisconsin to learn the English language until 1951. Sally came to Lewiston and graduated from LHS in 1952. She was married to Norm Dumont in 1957 at St. Peter & Paul Church. Norm and Sally were happily married for 60 years before Norm’s passing on July 5, 2017.

Sally worked while in High School as a candy girl at the Empire Theater. She also worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for 10 years, Dr. Mendros for 10 years, then worked 30 years at CMMC until retirement. She was a member of the Jacques Cartier Club for more than 50 years as well as a member of the Lewiston and Sabattus Seniors, and Vice president of the American auxiliaries Unit 22.

Living at St. Mary’s Residence, she enjoyed socializing and playing cards with different groups.

Sally was predeceased by her husband, Normand Dumont and her parents Raoul and Alice (Brousseau) Frenette, three brothers Conrad, Roland, Arthur and one sister Therese Frenette.

Sally is survived by her son Larry and wife Sam, her daughter Linda and husband David Bilodeau; as well as four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Per the families wishes, services for Solange will be private.
