The Telstar Boys Soccer team will play in the finals on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Gardiner High School, 40 West Hill Road Gardiner.
They will face Pine Tree Academy who they tied earlier this season.
“It was a wet Halloween morning that made field conditions slick,” Coach Nik Conrad said about their win at home against Carrebec/Madison on Oct. 31. “Telstar controlled most of the game only allowing one shot all game for the cobras.
“(Captain) Cyrus Mills hit the top of the crossbar with a free kick in the first half being the only real scoring chance for either squad. In the second half, Telstar had scoring opportunities but could not capitalize. Connor Deprey had a chance with a penalty kick but could not convert.
“Travis Decareau opened the door with two small breakaways but did not get a shot on the goal. With four minutes left of regulation play, Cyrus Mills and Cameron Wright combined a few passes opening the area for Cameron to deliver a cross. His perfectly placed cross found the head of Mason Perks who flicked in onto goal and slipped through the Carrabec goalie’s hands.”
