Aizyk Laliberte scored with 25 seconds remaining to lift Lewiston/Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse to a 4-3 win over Cony/Monmouth/Erskine/Mt. Blue/Hall-Dale/Maranacook/Spruce Mountain/Winthrop in a boys hockey season opener Saturday at The Colisee in Lewiston.

Laliberte also assisted on goals by Keegan Schmoll, Lawson Meyer and AJ Kavanaugh.

Jackson Wing scored twice in the third period for the Cony co-op. Alex Leet notched a first-period goal.

Kai Stockford stopped 18 shots for the Blue Devils. Caleb Morgan turned aside 21 shots for the Cony co-op.

GIRLS HOCKEY

EDWARD LITTLE 3, CHEVERUS 0: Khloe Nadeau scored twice in the second period, Leski Langevin added a goal and an assist, and Paige Fecteau made 21 saves as Edward Little/Leavitt/Poland/Oxford Hills (4-0) shut out Cheverus/Old Orchard Beach/Windham (2-1-2) at Troubh Ice Arena.

Ellie Skolnekovich stopped 18 shots for Cheverus, the two-time defending state champion.

The Red Hornets have outscored opponents 21-0.

BRUNSWICK 2, PORTLAND 0: Hensleigh Labonte stopped 20 shots to earn the shutout as the Dragons (3-2) defeated Portland/Deering/South Portland/Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete (2-3) at Sid Watson Arena in Brunswick.

Gillian Countway and Sydney Perham scored for Brunswick.

Mya Clark made 13 saves for the Portland co-op.

BIDDEFORD 7, GREELY 0: Corinne Ramunno potted two goals and recorded two assists for Biddeford/Thornton Academy/Kennebunk/Wells (4-1) in a win over Greely/Gray-New Gloucester (0-4) at Biddeford Ice Arena.

Ashley Sanderson recorded a goal and an assist. Alexa Hubbard, McKenna Buchanan, Sophia Auger and Gabryella Phelan also scored.

Kayleigh Dorais stopped 11 shots in the shutout. Charley Louie made 40 saves for the Rangers.

BOYS BASKETBALL

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 66, FREEPORT 51: Quentin Warrick scored 19 points and three others reached double figures for the Patriots as they opened their season with a victory in Gray.

The Patriots also got 15 points from Isaiah Portas, 11 from Carter Davis and 10 from Carter Corson.

Drew Pound led Freeport with 15 points. Ben Albertini made four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points.

HAMPDEN ACADEMY 51, OXFORD HILLS 38: Miles Shain scored 13 points, Jacob Kalley added 12 and Sawyer Worcester had 11 to lift the Broncos over the Vikings in Paris.

Cam Pulkkinen paced Oxford Hills with 19 points.
