Oxford Hills held on to earn its first win of the season by edging Lewiston 49-47 on Friday in a Class A North boys basketball contest in Paris.

The Blue Devils (1-2) had a flurry of putback chances in the final seconds but were unable to tie the game.

The Vikings’ (1-2) best offense was their 3-point shooting — the biggest a go-ahead 3 by Carson Stevens with 1:17 left in the game. Oxford Hills made 11 treys, including four apiece by Stevens and Jackson Stack. Cam Pulkkinen and Stack paced Oxford Hills with 14 points each, and Stevens finished with 12.

Lewiston’s Grayson Bernard scored a game-high 19 points, Kewito Castigo added 13 and Camden Bernard had 11.

EDWARD LITTLE 53, MT. BLUE 46: Akol Maiwen scored 30 for the Red Eddies (2-1) in a win over the Cougars (1-2) in Farmington.

Mt. Blue held a 40-38 lead after three quarters, but Edward Little outscored the Cougars 15-6 in the final quarter.

Evan Drake paced Mt. Blue with 13 points. Oliver Cormier finished with 12.

VINALHAVEN 70, RANGELEY 50: Javin Poole scored nine of his 22 points in the fourth quarter as the Vikings (1-3) pulled away from the Lakers (1-2) at the Augusta Civic Center.

Aiden Farnham added 17 points, Hunter Hamilton had 15 and Eli Quinton 10 for Vinalhaven.

Sam Morrill scored 18 points and Kayson Woike finished with 10 for Rangeley.

VALLEY 84, BUCKFIELD 61: Harry Louis and Levi Short combined for 23 points in the first quarter, starting the Cavaliers (3-0) on their way to a win over the Bucks (2-2) at the Augusta Civic Center.

Louis finished with 27 points, Short scored 23 and Fisher Tewksbury had 14.

Buckfield was paced by Brayden Monto with 18 points and Trenton Haskell with 17. Monto sank five 3-pointers and Haskell made four.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

MT. ABRAM 35, MONMOUTH ACADEMY 32: Stella Peterson scored 18 points to lead the Roadrunners (2-1) past the Mustangs (1-2) in Salem.

Kaitlyn Frost had eight points for Monmouth.

VALLEY 78, BUCKFIELD 26: Liana Hartwell paced the Cavaliers (3-0) with 29 points in a win over the Bucks (3-1) at the Augusta Civic Center.

Kirsten Bigelow helped out with 21 points.

Chloee Bennett led Buckfield with 10 points.
