Edward Little seized control early on its way to a 78-30 Class A North girls basketball victory over Oxford Hills on Tuesday in Auburn.

Edward Little (4-0), which is ranked seventh in the latest Varsity Maine poll, led 20-2 after one quarter.

The Red Eddies made 10 3-pointers, led by four from Kara Farrington, who finished with 12 points. Elizabeth Galway scored a game-high 20 points, while Alexis Creaser, Jenna Shea and Jasmine Thompson contributed eight apiece. Ten players scored for Edward Little.

Emma Cooper, who also hit four 3s, led the Vikings (0-4) with 14 points.

POLAND 48, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 22: Maddison Bosse scored 12 points and the Knights (2-2) outscored the Raiders (0-4) by a 17-5 margin in the second quarter to pull away for a win in Poland.

Payton Rose added nine points and Phoebe Paradis had eight points.

Addison Valente scored nine points for Fryeburg.

CONY 66, LEAVITT 30: Rylin Miller paced a balanced attack with 16 points for the Rams (2-2) in a win over the Hornets (2-3) in Turner.

Kya Douin added 15 points, Gabby Vachon had 12 and Khloe Price 10.

Gabby Smith scored 10 points for Leavitt.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 71, RICHMOND 16: Kaitlyn Frost scored 31 points and the Mustangs (2-2) cruised to a win over the Bobcats (1-3) in Monmouth.

Eliza Armandi added 10 points for Monmouth.

Kaylynn Brilliant scored eight points for Richmond.

BOYS BASKETBALL

POLAND 68, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 35: Nick Jamo scored 18 points on six 3-pointers as the Knights (3-2) beat the Raiders (0-4) in Fryeburg.

Jake Jamo added 15 points, four assists and three steals.

Quinton Moore scored 13 points and Cody Boyd had 10 for Fryeburg.

EDWARD LITTLE 45, OXFORD HILLS 27: Akol Maiwen scored 18 points to lead the Red Eddies (2-2) past the Vikings (1-3) in Paris.

Cedric Makelele and Chan Ring added nine points apiece for Edward Little

Carson Stevens hit three 3-pointers and led Oxford Hills with 12 points, while Cam Pulkkinen scored 10.

MARANACOOK 84, OAK HILL 40: Gage Mattson scored 23 points and Jack Fontaine added 20 to lead the Black Bears (5-0) over the Raiders (1-2) in Readfield.

Grady Hreben chipped in 13 points for Maranacook.

Keeghan Morrissette paced Oak Hill with 12 points, while Braden New scored 10.

MT. BLUE 48, MT. ARARAT 27: Oliver Cormier scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half as the Cougars (3-1) pulled away from the Eagles (1-3) in Topsham.

After a low-scoring first half ended with Mt. Blue up 13-7, Cormier sparked an 18-6 third-quarter surge with nine points.

Evan Drake added 13 points for the Cougars.

Logan Zoulamis was the only Mt. Ararat player with more than two points. He finished with 15.

PINE TREE ACADEMY 67, BUCKFIELD 66: Rio Soram’s layup with six seconds remaining enabled the Breakers (3-1) to survive a fourth-quarter comeback by the Bucks (2-3) in Freeport.

Buckfield trailed by nine entering the fourth quarter but fought back to take the lead.

Collin Verrill paced Pine Tree with 21 points, including five 3-pointers. Ben Christman and Rhett Tyson each added 10 points. Soram finished with eight points.

Krosby Harvey (13 points), Brayden Monto (13), Trenton Haskell (10) and Nate Thomas (10) each scored in double figures for Buckfield.

YORK 64, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 46: Reece MacDonald scored 19 points, and the Wildcats (4-0) beat the Patriots (2-3) in York.

Henry Mirick added 14 points and Cam Swett had 11 for York, which is ranked seventh in the Varsity Maine poll.

Kaleb D’Andrea scored 14 points and Isaiah Portas finished with 11 for Gray-New Gloucester.

DIRIGO 60, LISBON 52: Owen Smith recorded a game-high 32 points for the Cougars (3-1) in their win over the Greyhounds (3-2) in Lisbon.

Smith drained five 3-pointers. Teammate Liam Malchisky finished with 14 points.

Owen Hurd led Lisbon with 17 points, while Brandon Long scored 11 points and Maleek Colby-Burnell ended up with 10.

LEWISTON 56, BREWER 39: Grayson Bernard scored 21 points to lift the Blue Devils (2-2) past the Witches (1-3) in Lewiston.

Kewito Castigo added 15 points for Lewiston.

Oli Higgins and Jackson Jankowski each scored 13 points for Brewer.

PLOG 5, YORK CO-OP 0: Five players scored for Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester (3-0) in a shutout victory over York/Biddeford/Old Orchard Beach at Rochester Ice Arena in Rochester, New Hamphire.

Pete Lacomber, Hunter Landry, Carter Austin, Charlie Boles and Tyler Mates netted a goal apiece for the Kings.

MONDAY’S GIRLS BASKETBALL

MORSE 55, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 11: Molly Cosgrove scored 21 points and the Shipbuilders (1-3) held the Falcons (0-4) scoreless in the first and third quarters in Bath.

Reese Darling added eight points and Lily Caron finished with seven for Morse, which led 16-0 after one quarter and 42-7 after the third.

Madison Blanchard and Chloe Brown each scored five points for Mountain Valley.
