Poland made 12 3-pointers, including seven during a 31-point fourth quarter as it closed out its boys basketball regular season Wednesday with a 76-51 win over visiting Freeport.
Jake Jamo led Poland (12-6) with 18 points. He was joined in double figures by Alex Mains (16), Landon Cooper (12), Damon Martin (12) and Nick Jamo (11). The Knights will likely be the sixth seed in the Class B South playoffs.
Gage Gayton sank four 3-pointers and scored 14 points for Freeport (5-13).
MARANACOOK 70, WINTHROP 46: Gage Mattson put up 21 points and Jack Fontaine added 18 as the Black Bears (14-4) wrapped up the regular season with a victory over the Ramblers (3-15) in Winthrop.
Elijah Freeman chipped in 10 points and Brennan Boyd hit three 3-pointers for Maranacook, which will be the second or third seed in the Class C South playoffs.
Graham Huri scored 23 points for Winthrop.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 52, OAK HILL 46: Freshman Tyler Day scored 22 points to lead the Mustangs (13-5) past the Raiders (9-9) in Wales.
Josh Iwuanyanwu added nine points and Aiden Oliveira scored eight for the Mustangs, who were missing leading scorer Levi Laverdiere. The Mustangs will be the No. 2 seed in the Class D South playoffs.
Keeghan Morrissette and Braden New scored 13 points apiece and Braden Dubuc had 11 for Oak Hill, which likely will host a C South prelim.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 51, GREELY 41: Isaiah Portis scored 20 points and the Patriots (6-12) improved their playoff chances by defeating the Rangers (5-13) in a Class B South regular-season finale.
Gray-New Gloucester is battling for one of B South’s final two playoff berths.
Portas made two 3-pointers and shot 6 of 7 from the free-throw line. Carter Corson added nine points.
Rocky Axelson hit three 3s and led Greely with 13 points. James Saxe scored nine points.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
LEAVITT 53, MEDOMAK VALLEY 31: Jordyn Boulay and Gabby Smith both scored 16 points as the Hornets (8-9) defeated the Panthers (7-10) in a game that finished Wednesday after a power outage Tuesday night in Turner.
Smith also grabbed 11 rebounds, and Boulay had seven steals.
Alyssa Smith led Medomak with nine points.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 67, TELSTAR 24: Kaitlyn Frost surpassed 1,000 career points in the first quarter as the Mustangs (10-8) ended their regular season with a victory over the Rebels (2-16) in Monmouth.
Frost finished with 28 points. All 11 Monmouth players scored. The Mustangs ended the season on a four-game winning streak and likely will be the No. 4 seed in the D South playoffs.
Ayva Jeselskis led Telstar with nine points.
POLAND 48, FREEPORT 47: Charlotte Grenier’s four overtime points helped the Knights (12-6) emerge victorious in a Class B South regular-season finale in Freeport.
Grenier, who finished with 12 points, hit one of her three 3-pointers and Maddison Bosse added free throw in overtime.
Payton Rose chipped in 10 points for Poland, which will likely be the fifth seed in the B South playoffs.
Abby Giroux (17 points) and Ky Kennedy (14 points) each made four 3s and Emily Groves scored 15 points for the Falcons (8-10), who appear likely to host a preliminary-round game as the seventh or eighth seed.
GIRLS HOCKEY
BIDDEFORD CO-OP 8, GREELY/GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Sophia Auger’s hat trick and Evelyne Roper’s two goals propelled No. 2 Biddeford/Thornton Academy/Kennebunk/Wells (14-5) past the seventh-seeded Rangers (2-17) in a South quarterfinal at Biddeford Ice Arena.
Roper also had two assists and Auger recorded one.
Corinne Ramunno contributed and a goal and two assists, Avery Kurkjy and Florence Radford also scored, and Mariah Villandry made seven saves.
The Tigers will take on third-seeded Gorham/Bonny Eagle/Massabesic/Westbrook/Fryeburg in the regional semifinals at Troubh Ice Arena in Portland on Saturday.
Charley Louie stopped 25 shots for Greely/Gray-New Gloucester.
