The Central Maine Community College and University of Maine at Augusta women’s basketball teams received the No. 1 and 2 seeds, respectively, in the USCAA Division 2 tournament on Tuesday.
CMCC, which lost the national championship game last season, beat UMA 67-57 in the Yankee Small College Conference final on Sunday in Auburn. It was the ninth straight conference title for the Mustangs, who are 26-1, losing only to UMA.
The tournament begins March 4 in Buffalo, New York. The Mustangs will face No. 8 Penn State Dubois (16-7) in the first round, and UMA (20-6) will play No. 7 Christendom (10-6), of Virginia.
