The Maine boys hockey season is down to its most important games, the Class A semifinals and Class B regional finals Wednesday and then the state championships Saturday. The Class A semifinalists fill four of the five spots in the Varsity Maine poll, which is mostly unchanged from last week.

Thornton Academy remains the unanimous No. 1. Messalonskee, the lone Class B team in the rankings, is No. 2 for the second straight week. Cheverus/Yarmouth is still No. 3 and Falmouth is fourth again.

The only change in the poll is minor: rather than being tied for fifth, the Lewiston co-op is all alone the final spot in the rankings.

The Varsity Maine boys hockey poll is based on games played before March 3, 2026. The top five teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.

1. Thornton Academy (9) 45
2. Messalonskee 32
