Teddy Stiga and James Hagens struck for goals just 39 seconds apart in the first period, starting fourth-seeded Boston College on its way to a 5-0 win over fifth-seeded Maine in a Hockey East quarterfinal Friday night in Boston.
Boston Bruins draft picks accounted for four of the five goals. Oskar Jellvik made it 3-0 early in the third period, and Dean Letourneau and Hagens both tacked on empty-net goals. Hagens, the leading scorer in Hockey East this season, was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2025 NHL draft, and Letourneau was the No. 25 overall pick in 2024. Jellvik, from Sweden, was a fifth-round pick in 2021.
Mathis Rousseau made 21 saves for the Black Bears (18-14-3). Louka Cloutier stopped 18 shots to earn the shutout for Boston College (20-14-1).
