Holy Cross women’s hockey coach Katie Lachapelle is one of seven finalists for the CCM/AHCA University Division I Women’s Ice Hockey Coach of the Year Award.
Lachapelle, originally from Lewiston, was named Hockey East Coach of the Year earlier this month. She led the Crusaders to the Hockey East semifinals for the first time and a 19-13-3 record (10-11-3 in conference play). The 19 wins are the fifth most in program history, and the 10 Hockey East victories are a school record.
Lachapelle just completed her seventh season as head coach at Holy Cross. She has also served as coach for the U.S. women’s team at the 2022 and 2023 Under-18 world championships.
The other finalists for coach of the year are Mark Bolding of Yale, Dave Flint of Northeastern, Mark Johnson of Wisconsin, Jeff Kampersal of Penn State, Nadine Muzerall of Ohio State and David Stockdale of Franklin Pierce.
