Political newcomer Graham Platner announced a $4 million fundraising haul in the first quarter of 2026.
The total solidifies his status as the frontrunner in the Democratic primary against Gov. Janet Mills, whose campaign announced last week that it raised $2.6 million during the same stretch.
Platner, a veteran and oyster farmer from Hancock County, has used his fundraising advantage to blanket the Maine airwaves with ads. Mills, meanwhile, has booked just $28 in advertisements since last week, according to AdImpact.
The winner of the Democratic primary will face five-term Republican incumbent Susan Collins in the November general election. Collins and her GOP allies have amassed a massive war chest, and are already booking TV ads well into the fall.
Maine’s Senate candidates faced a Wednesday deadline to file their first-quarter fundraising reports with the Federal Election Commission.
This is a developing story.
